Infektiologie

The Division of Infectious Diseases at the Department of Internal Medicine was founded in 2021 as a spin-off of the Section of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine. It provides interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of the entire range of infectious diseases, conducts research on infectious diseases and offers university degree programs and postgraduate training.

In 2019 the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM) designated the Clinical Division of Infectious Diseases and local collaborators within the field of clinical mycology as an ECMM Excellence Center with Diamond Certificate. According to ECMM regulations the designation was reevaluated in 2023 and the ECMM Excellence Center with Diamond Certificate status prolonged.
